Things

This is a list of things I found out about while looking for something else. There's treasure everywhere!

  • Ocarina of Time. A very complete page.
  • OMG, sales figures! for the top-selling video games of all time. Super Mario Bros - oh my god!
  • Ahh, wikipedia. Is there anything it doesn't cover? This time, I'm on about mystery and intrigue in the world of Pokémon! Firstly, there's the classic Missingno. weirdness, along with a few theories about what causes it. In a similar vein, with a mind-bending theory, is Glitch City, which I'd never heard of before, but makes sense. Apparently that's an example of Blue Hell, a term that appeals to me for some reason. Go figure.
  • The greatest nonsense poem ever written.
  • An oft-seen being in fantasy games such as RPGs, Lichs are both interesting to read about and hard to pronounce.
  • Leading almost too easily from the previous item, we flow into the subject of Harry Potter - specifically, speculation about the final Harry Potter book, including details already divulged by J. K. Rowling about the already-released books, this one's worth a read. There's also a breakdown of dark wizards in the series.
  • Some Japanese mythology provides the background for Orochimaru, the (probably over-used) villain of Naruto.
  • Bit of a weird one. Qualia.
  • How to go about running homebrew software on a DS.
  • Mythological reference found in the GBA game Fire Emblem: Fimbulvetr
  • Find out (for renewable energy purposes) the estimated average wind speed where you live.
  • In a similar vein, heat water by way of solar water heating.
  • Email the PM about matters that matter to you personally. Like this whole suggestion that nuclear might be a viable power source. (It reallyisn't!)
