The Best Things in life are Free

Blender  The best free thing ever! Blender is utterly, unbelievably fantastic.

Mozilla Firefox A secure, standards-compliant browser, with in-built google, live bookmarking and tabbed browsing. Nice software, in other words. And it imports all your IE stuff for you.

Ubuntu Linux  An Operating System to feel good about. Open Source is good for you. I have broken out into unprovoked grinning due to using this software, it's just so much nicer than my previous OS.

The Ur-Quan Masters  An impressively comprehensive remake of a well-loved game I never played before. This is to videogames what The Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy is to novels: hysterical sci-fi with unforgettable wit. Play it, and you too shall appreciate the meaning of Frungy.

Different Every Time

Zero Punctuation Updated every Wednesday, Yahtzee slates a recently released game in incredibly entertaining style.
Elfwood Massive online amateur art gallery, with daily pic picks and more stuff than you can probably imagine.
Slashdot If you don't know about this and think you're a geek, you're wrong.
BBC Radio 2 Listen to Britain's most popular radio station online.
Penny Arcade Elitist videogaming swearfest web-comic with undeniable brilliance in the fields of artwork, humour, and wryness. The best webcomic there is.
VG Cats The most brilliantly styled web comic out there - with an unmistakable visual edge, hampered perhaps only by its gut-wrenching sickness.
Nuklear Power (8-bit Theatre) Sprite-art comic featuring vast amounts of stabbity hilarity, and probably the best character writing and plot brilliance on t'internet. You can't fail to love Black Mage.

Shopping

Play  Dangerously easy to buy DVDs and games!
Dabs Computing equipment etc.
Gameplay.com Apparently hold onto 'old' titles longer than most - fantastic for games more than a couple of months old that have been whipped off the retail scene faster than most of us can react.
ShopTo UK Dedicated games-buying site.
Simply Games  SG have delivered on (or before) time every time I've ordered from them... apart from the last time. I'm hoping that disaster was a one-off.

Funnies

The Evil Overlord List The top 100-or-so things you should remember when putting your world-conquering scheme into operation.
Engrish.com Japanese mistranslated into not-quite English by people who don't seem to understand either.
Dilbert! Sign up for Daily Dilbert, join the DNRC...

Software Development

XNA C# Starting Tutorials
C++ language references and tutorial. Essential.
Python  A very cool programming language. Named after Monty Python's Flying Circus.
Java  APIs, guides, everything a Java developer could ask for. (Except for a copy of Eclipse)
Python plugin for Eclipse.
NeHe Gamedev.net OpenGL Development
GameTutorials.com  Decent guides to starting off programming games, but doesn't contain quite enough info for a full project.
Programmer's heaven  Good reference page, with tutorials for just about all languages.

Gaming-Related

ZHQ is still alive!  An extensive, dedicated Zelda page which has been running for many years. Includes all the super-pedantic GANNON-BANNING you could possibly desire.
History of Hyrule great Zelda content and official artwork collection (and possibly some amazing fanart - if I could only find it.)
Metroid Database  Anything and everything you did or didn't want to know about Metroid. A fantastic site.
Speed Demos Archive - Metroid Prime 100% speed run  Do you believe Metroid Prime can be completed with 100% items in just under an hour and a half? Neither did I, until I saw this. Some guys have waaay too much free time. Look for other amazing game tricks throughout speeddemosarchive.com. Mario 64 is also impressively conquered.
Metroid 2000  Yup, waay too much time. Want to know how those speedrun guys got the Space Jump so early? Or how to do it in the European version? It's all here. More than you could ever think possible, and probably don't want to try anyway!
Zelda Universe  A highly polished looking Zelda site with loads of info and cool pictures.
GameFAQs I give in, and admit it - there are some things in games too annoying not to look up. But if anyone uses a guide for the first playthrough of a Zelda game, they are committing unholy sacrilege, and should be punished.

Art

The Phoenix Requiem The prolific Sarah Ellerton's impressive second graphic novel
Julie Dillon The definitive amazing fantasy/manga computer-art gallery.
Sandara.net I found this after browsing Elfwood. The manga-style art is generally brilliant and there are two completely fantastic turtorials: one on Photoshop and one on using watercolour paint.
Silvestris.Net  Another personal art page - this one from one of the top artists on Elfwood, S. Silvestris Strand. Has some great Zelda fanart too, and her own intriguing fantasy world concept.
Artoki.co.uk Impressive site and drawings, yet another page linked off Elfwood.
Adele Sessler's homepage, with a huge collection of utterly jaw-dropping fantasy art.

Animé

NARUTO! The best site for all things Naruto. In case I haven't made this clear enough: Naruto is the best animated series I have seen. Peerless. The best thing I've seen on TV in my entire life.
Bleach  An anime with an excellent starting premise, mythos, plot, characters, and awesomely realised action sequences. Gets very poor after episode 70.
Death Note  The most tightly written, cleverly plotted animé to date. It suffers from certain Japanese character clichés, (narcissistic bishounen and hopelessly weak women). However, it has such exquisite drama and an incredible plot that this is just a tiny irritation.
